What an amazing Sunday with friends. Opted for trail mix at the “tea house” instead of attempting the snow covered summit.
For those planning to hike or run it, it isn’t snowy until you get above the tea house. Enjoy!
Nipika Mountain Eco Resort happens to be one of my favourite places on earth. They have amazing self-contained log cabin accommodations, and there is nothing better than relaxing next to the fireplace after exploring their 80km cross country ski, mountain bike and running trail system…so needless to say, it wasn’t a hard decision to help them with a rework of their existing site.
What a way to ring in the 2011 summer! After meeting at the Kananaskis gate after work and fuelling up on Smarties (thanks Jenny!), the 17km climb up the Highwood Pass couldn’t have been more amazing. Plenty of sun, no wind, and lots of laughter! I think we were all motivated by the champagne and chocolate beckoning us to the summit (thanks to Sherpa Emily) and boy was it worth it. It took us no time to zip back down and we still had plenty of light by the time we arrived back at the cars.
Here’s to a great summer!

I was thrilled when I was invited to update the Canadian Orienteering Federation (COF) website. I didn’t know a lot about orienteering at the time, but I knew enough to recognize that this was going to be a great project!
COF provides leadership and resources to those involved in Canadian orienteering – from coaches, officials and volunteers to athletes and youth leaders.
Marilyn Taylor – Founder of Taylor Made Pilates (TMP) is a great athlete. She is a cyclist, a skier, a runner and a former national team rower. So there is no question that when it comes to Pilates, she means business. And she happens to be an amazing instructor in Romana’s Pilates with a splash of Stott Pilates too.
