Nipika Mountain Eco Resort happens to be one of my favourite places on earth. They have amazing self-contained log cabin accommodations, and there is nothing better than relaxing next to the fireplace after exploring their 80km cross country ski, mountain bike and running trail system…so needless to say, it wasn’t a hard decision to help them with a rework of their existing site.
A little bit about the project…
Nipika is an eco resort located just on the edge of Kootenay National Park, near Radium BC. Nipika already had a functioning website, but it was difficult to find the information you were looking for.
The goal for the updated site was twofold. First and foremost, the site had to be easy to navigate; we were going to need to rethink how and where people were looking for information on Nipika’s events, accommodations, trail conditions, and other resort information. Secondly, the look and feel of the site needed an update that truly reflected the Nipika environment.
Here’s what we did
I teamed up on this project with James at Atom Graphics for the design, and Gord with Vertechs for the build. The current site used the Vertechs’ content management system (CMS), so it was an easy choice to continue using the system. We started by reworking the website content structure and the content itself. It was crucial that the site would be scalable, to ensure the Nipika team would be able to add to the site continues to grow. Next came the fun part ;)…James did what he does best…he got creative with a design that truly reflects the Nipika experience.
With an updated site that is easy to use and visually appealing, we hope that even more people will discover this mountain gem.
Check out the Nipika site.
Brooke is a big part of the “Nipika” family, a group of people who share the same ideals about health, fitness and the environment. Working with her on this project just didn’t feel like work, her enthusiasm and professionalism were contagious.
