Every year…or a couple of times a year (3 times so far this year ;)), I try to get up to Shadow Lake Lodge. I just adore the place. They have the most fantastic “high tea” (all you can eat for $15), and the trail up to the lodge is accessible for all levels.

You can hike, bike, horseback (and ski in the winter) up to the lodge. If you do mountain bike, you do have to lock your bikes up with 2 kms to go (about 11kms is ride-able) and then you can hike the remainder (2kms) . We opted to bike up there today, and we had a great gang with us and the perfect weather!

Just a few minutes away from tasty treats...

I’ll take any chance I can to visit one of my favourite places – Nipika Mountain Eco-resort, and this weekend was a great opportunity to get out there! Nipika was hosting their annual “Crazy Soles” trail run, so Shauna, Jenny and I headed out to conquer the trails.

This weekend while camping with my besties Megan and Dan, we convinced Cam and our American friends Katie, Matt and Penny to join us for a hike up Mt. Indefatigable. Great evening out of the city

Cam and I scooted out to Bragg Creek on Tuesday night to do a quick jaunt up Moose Mountain. What a great little evening hike, nice and close to home. It definitely was a midweek treat…mosquitoes and all :). I think I need to plan another midweek outing there, but perhaps biking or running it next time!

Splendid evening views from Moose Mountain

Last weekend was my first visit to both Rossland and Christina Lake. Jenny and I had grand dreams of riding the 7 Summits outside Rossland, but the weather had other plans for us. It rained almost the entire weekend :(! But, I still got to see a bit of Rossland and we spent lots of time relaxing at Christina Lake (and even snuck in a little road ride when the weather permitted). I can’t wait to go back when it’s dry :).
