I’ll take any chance I can to visit one of my favourite places – Nipika Mountain Eco-resort, and this weekend was a great opportunity to get out there! Nipika was hosting their annual “Crazy Soles” trail run, so Shauna, Jenny and I headed out to conquer the trails.
We were fortunate that our friends Erin and Greg took us in Friday night as a road closure near Banff left us (and all others heading to the mountains) “stranded” in Canmore (thanks Erin and Greg!!!).
Fortunately, when we woke up Saturday morning , the highway was re-opened and we were on our way!
The race (as per usual for Nipika) was amazing. The weather could not have been better, and this year Lyle and Steve incorporated even more single track trails, which equated to an awesome course!
Us ladies had a great time. Jenny left me in the dust on the 25k (her first trail race ever – nice work speedy :)), and Shauna did great on the challenging 10k trails. Congrats ladies and all you other Crazy Soles :).
I can’t wait to get back out to Nipika for more running, biking and skiing…well hopefully not skiing for a few months ;).
