After a fun loppet with the Skiing With Ian group on Saturday, Darryl and I headed out Sunday morning for an “easy” long ski at Ribbon Creek with our Birkie “prince” and “princess” packs. We started at Kananaskis Village, and worked our way up towards the Skogan Pass turn off on the Ribbon Creek trail system.
After heading out I remembered that trying to keep up with Darryl at his “slow” pace is never easy ;). We had great weather though and enjoyed the 3 hour ski.
Note, the trails are in far better shape around Kananaskis Village. The Ribbon Creek trails are mostly skier track set (with some random tracksetting on certain trails), and have been pretty beat up by snowshoe visitors and walkers. I’d suggest making the most of the loops around the village if you’re heading to the trails.
