This weekend I tried to keep up with Dad, Uncle Keith and Dad’s friend Lyle on the mountain bike trails around Jasper. The conditions were perfect. We chased the sun all day around the #2/8c trail systems. The trails are dry and fast riding. Dad and I convinced cousin Lesley and Dale to join us in the 2nd annual Drayton Valley Triathlon this weekend. For team Huckleberry Twin (Dad and I), I took on the swim (750 meters) and bike (20kms) while Dad brought us in with the run (5kms). Representing team Blue Goats, Dale did the swim and run while Lesley brought out her fancy new bike for the ride.
I love the first road ride of the year…and yesterday was no exception! We were spoiled with blue bird skies and great company. If you have a chance, go ride Road to Nepal and some of the surrounding farm roads. They are quiet and the scenery is amazing. What a fantastic start to the bike season. Happy pedalling.
