Touring Bar Harbor

Photo cred to Dr. Hahn

With a few weeks left on the East coast, Chris and I took a little plane ride up to Bar Harbor in Maine. Bar Harbor is a great island (most of which is a national park). With our fingers crossed for good weather, we planned our weekend around exploring on our bikes.

Too tall for the plane 😉

We stayed at the splendid Acacia B&B. The breakfast alone made this place a “must stay”…not to mention the fresh lemonade and cookies set out during the day. Yum.

With only two days on the island, we made the most of our time by exploring the Park Loop Road and adding on some additional kms out into the countryside. The roads were quiet, smooth and offered spectacular views.

When we rented our bikes on the first day mentioned a series of carriage trails that are rough gravel roads, conducive to hard tail mountain biking. So the second day we headed out there to toodle around and enjoyed even more stunning scenery.

I’m going to miss the East coast with all the exploring we’ve done, there is still so much more to do!
